UDM and EL TECNOLÓGICO DE MONTERREY IN MEXICO LAUNCH JD/LED
The University of Detroit Mercy School of Law (UDM) and the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM or Monterrey), Mexico’s leading private law school, have partnered to offer the NAFTA Lawyer Program, a multiple degree program that allows students bilingual in Spanish and English to earn law degrees in the United States and Mexico. Students completing this legal education program are awarded the U.S. Juris Doctor from UDM School of Law and the Mexican Bachelor of Arts in Law, the Licenciado en Derecho(L.E.D.), from Monterrey.
Students who want to practice in all three NAFTA countries also will be able to earn Mexican, U.S., and Canadian law degrees through UDM’s joint U.S./Canadian law degree program with the University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada.
As part of this program, UDM will offer 14 courses in Mexican law taught in Spanish by professors from ITESM. Any UDM student may take these courses as electives.

At USF, our goal is to educate students to be effective lawyers with a social conscience, high ethical standards and a global perspective. We emphasize professional skills and quality classroom teaching. Our students learn not only how lawyers think, they also practice doing what is required of lawyers to help clients solve problems and resolve conflicts. Studying law at USF offers the beauty, diversity, culture, recreation and climate of San Francisco. It also offers exceptional learning, practice and service opportunities for students.

* Assistant Professor Anthony Colangelo presented A Jurisdictional Theory of Double Jeopardy at the Stanford/Yale Junior Faculty Forum at Yale Law School on June 20, 2008. The forum alternates each year between Stanford and Yale, and encourages the work of leading young academics with one to seven years teaching experience by providing an opportunity for high-level discussion of their scholarly work. Senior scholars then comment on and lead discussions on the work of the selected scholars. The commentator on Colangelo’s paper was the Dean of Yale Law School, Harold Hongju Koh. Moreover, Colangelo’s paper will be published by Washington University Law review. Read More ...
