admission prerequisites, application instructions, frequently asked questions,
and admissions criteria. You can learn where a Boalt Hall representative will
recruit in the fall, when applicant information sessions will be held at the
School during September-December, and access a search engine to contact Boalt
alumni around the country.
You may also request a Boalt Hall Viewbook to be sent to you via regular mail,
go to:
www.law.berkeley.edu/admissions/jddegree/requestcatalog.html.
Special Note to Graduate Law (LL.M., J.S.D. and Visiting Scholar) Applicants
We have a separate admissions office and different application procedures and
forms for admission to these programs. If you have any questions please resend
your email to: llm@law.berkeley.edu. You may obtain general information and
request an application for the LL.M./J.S.D. program here: www.law.berkeley.edu/admissions/advdegree
Beginning September 1, you may access and complete our J.D. application form
online, then print it to be mailed to us. The link is: www.law.berkeley.edu/admissions/jddegree/appprocess/index.html
We also accept electronic applications for either the J.D. or the LL.M. program
through the EApp Service available at Law Services (www.lsac.org). If you use
the Eapp Service you may pay for the application fee via a credit card rather
than submitting a check or money order to us.
We begin to accept applications October 1. Once you submit an application, you
should assume that it has been received and that it is being processed. We will
notify you via email when it is ready to be reviewed. In the interim you can
check the status of your LSDAS account by going to the LSAC website. We regret
that the number of applications we receive makes it impractical to provide
individual application status checks.
We conduct one review each year for admission to the following fall semester
only. We observe a strict February 1 deadline for submission of the application
forms. We do not offer part-time or correspondence courses. We advise that you
not wait until the final days before the deadline to submit your application;
you should apply as early as possible. You may submit an application before you
take the LSAT. The last LSAT score we will accept for admission in 2008 is the
December 2007 test.
