Georgetown Law Center Graduate Admissions Office

Thank you for emailing the Graduate Admissions Office at Georgetown University Law Center.

•Status-Check Questions: Due to the large volume of e-mails and supplemental materials our office has been receiving, we are unable to answer any questions about the status of specific applications at this time. For applicants with an incomplete status: e-mails will be sent periodically (before application deadlines) to notify applicants of the specific materials missing from their applications. If you have already sent the “missing materials” and it has been more than a week, please feel free to contact our office for further assistance. For applicants with a complete status: your application will be processed and a decision will be issued within 6-10 weeks of your file’s completion date (completion dates can be found on the online status check).

•Late TOEFL Scores: For those students who have taken the TOEFL exam recently or will be taking the exam soon, your applications will remain incomplete until we have received your TOEFL report. There are fewer and fewer seats available as the admissions cycle continues, consequently we ask students to make their best efforts to take the exam as early as possible.

•International Students: We are still accepting applications for international students on a space available basis. The fee for late applications is $100.00. We continue to have a rolling admissions policy, and Fall 2008 seats are filling up quickly. For that reason, we suggest that applications should be submitted and completed as quickly as possible.

•U.S. Applicants: The regular application deadline for U.S. applicants is on March 15th. E-mail updates will be sent prior to the deadline, informing applicants of any missing materials from their application. While we will accept applications after March 15 on a space-available basis, the fee for late applications will be $100.

If you have recently mailed materials to the Graduate Admissions Office, please be aware that there is a processing period of at least a week after the materials reach the Law Center before they are matched with individual files. Materials are date-stamped upon arrival, but your online status check may not immediately show as “Complete.” This processing time in the Graduate Admissions Office will not negatively affect your consideration as an on time applicant.

Thank you for your patience during this busy season.
