The University of Oregon School of Law

Dear Christian Milan jurisdoctorstud,

The University of Oregon School of Law looks forward to seeing you at the Washington, DC LSAC Forum this Saturday, June 21. Assistant Dean of Admissions, Lawrence Seno, Jr., will meet you at Table Number 554 beginning at 10 a.m..

UO Law is Oregon's only public law school and with 180 students in the first-year class, is the smallest public law school on the West Coast. Oregon is an innovative leader in the areas of Sustainable Business Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Environmental and Natural Resources Law. Our Legal Research and Writing Program is nationally recognized for training future lawyers with the research and writing skills necessary to succeed in today's legal market.

We strongly value public interest and public service work. The Wayne Morse Center for Law and Politics sponsors public service work with its interdisciplinary programs, such as "Democracy and Citizenship in the Twenty-first Century" and the upcoming "Climate Ethics, Climate Equity."

Oregon law students are extremely active in nearly 40 student organizations including several multicultural student organizations and three law reviews. Oregon Law students created an on line journal, the and Legality.com, dedicated to providing accessible legal opinions on current events. The Legality has attracted both critical acclaim and a critical mass of readers. Oregon law students are also blogging about life in law school and Eugene at the Life At Law Blog.

After graduating, our students go on to find successful legal careers across the country and abroad. For example, Oregon is among the top ten schools in the country for Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals clerkships. Based on the School of Law's strong history of public service, one-third to one-half of our graduates choose careers in government service or nonprofit organizations each year. These graduates work as prosecutors, public defenders, federal and state judicial clerks, international human rights advocates, elected officials, military attorneys, and legal aid lawyers.

Thank you for taking a moment to learn more about the University of Oregon School of Law. We look forward to getting to know you better this weekend at the LSAC Forum.

Cordially,
